Banked Golf, formerly GolfSkills ("the app", "we", "us") is a golf practice-tracking app used by golf teams and their coaches. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your choices. The data controller is Matthew Campbell (United Kingdom). When you create an account and use the app, we collect:
- Account details: your name and email address (used to sign in and to identify you to your coach within your team). - Practice data you enter: Skills Challenge results, Bank session results, shot data (target, club, distance/lateral miss, wind conditions), levels reached, and any notes you choose to write. - Team membership: which team(s) you belong to and your role (player or coach).
We do not collect location, contacts, photos, advertising identifiers, or device microphone/camera data. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics trackers.
- To provide the core app: recording your sessions and showing your stats, scorecards, history and notebook. - To let your coach view the performance of players on their team (team overview, per-player stats, activity and leaderboards). - To maintain team rankings and personal bests.
We use your data only to operate the app. We do not sell your data or use it for advertising.
Legal basis (UK GDPR): we process your data to perform our contract with you (providing the app you signed up for) and, for team features, on the basis of our legitimate interest in supporting team coaching that you joined voluntarily with a team code.
Your data is stored using Google Firebase (Authentication and Cloud Firestore), operated by Google LLC as our data processor under Google's data processing terms. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections and may be stored on Google servers outside the UK; such transfers are safeguarded by Google's standard contractual protections. Access is restricted to you, the coaches of your team(s), and the app administrators.
We do not share your personal information with third parties except:
- Within your team: coaches and administrators of a team you belong to can see your name and your practice data for that team. - Service providers: Google Firebase, solely to store and serve your data. - Legal requirements: if required by law.
The app is intended for users aged 13 and over. Some teams may include players under the age of 18. Accounts for minors should be created with the knowledge and consent of a parent or guardian, and their practice data is visible to their team coaches for coaching purposes. To request access to or deletion of a minor's data, contact us at the email above.
We keep your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account and all associated practice data at any time from within the app (Settings → Delete Account). You can also request a copy of your data, or request deletion, by emailing matthew.campbell1010@gmail.com. We will action requests within 30 days.
Under UK data protection law you have the right to access, correct, export, restrict, object to the processing of, or delete your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, use the in-app tools or contact us at the email above. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above.
